From the All-Girls' Convent to the Corridors of Law and Politics

In the vibrant and evolving sociopolitical landscape of Goa, few stories are as compelling and dynamic as that of Seoula Vas-a distinguished advocate, social worker, and rising political force.

Her journey from a competitive all-girls school in South Goa, where she was a prefect Captain of Red House to the courtroom and finally into the heart of grassroots politics is a narrative of grit, intellect, and fearless ambition.

Seoula's early years were shaped by the rigorous environment of Presentation Convent High School. An all-girls institution known for its academic competitiveness and discipline, it set the tone for what would be a lifetime of ambition and determination. "Presentation was the most competitive environment I've ever experienced—even more than the modern-day courtrooms in Goa or Mumbai," she recalls.

Born to highly educated parents-her mother, a retired government nurse, and her father, a dedicated engineer formerly with Zuari Industries-Seoula was exposed to the value of public service and intellectual curiosity from a young age. Though not from a family of lawyers, she was always driven by a deep interest in multiple disciplines. As a child, she dreamt of becoming a VJ, a journalist, a forest ranger, and even a neurologist. "I've always been a science lover at heart," she says with a smile.
