Meet the women who are redefining the landscape of medicine through innovation.
In the ever-evolving world of medicine and healthcare, a few trailblazing women are leading the charge with their groundbreaking research and innovations. From pioneering technology in rehabilitation to research in eye health and neurosurgery, remarkable women like Jane Wang, Prof Saw Seang Mei, and Dr Nicole Keong are driving transformative change in shaping the future of health in Singapore.
These women have each carved a unique path, redefining success on their own terms – breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields and inspiring others through their game-changing innovations. Their stories serve as a powerful reminder of what is possible when passion meets purpose. Through their journeys, we gain insight into the challenges they have overcome, the triumphs they have achieved, and the legacies they are building for the next generation.
Revolutionising rehabilitation with soft robotics
JANE WANG
CEO, Roceso Technologies
For patients recovering from strokes and neurological conditions, rehabilitation is often a slow and arduous process. However, Jane Wang, who co-founded Roceso Technologies in 2016, is changing that narrative with soft robotic solutions designed to enhance mobility and independence.
Jane’s journey into medtech robotics was driven by a vision to bridge the gap between technology and healthcare. “As a trained robotics engineer with more than 10 years of industrial experience in multiple disciplines, a medtech robotic company makes sense,” she says. She saw this as a meaningful opportunity to support individuals with disabilities and neurological disorders, inspiring her to make a tangible impact through her soft robotic technologies.
