RAAS CHHATRASAGAR

RAAS Chhatrasagr is perched atop a nearly 150-year-old check dam that forms a perennial rainwater lake. Designed by Studio Lotus, the property follows the brief ecological context and is erected with minimal environmental footprint. The architects thus designed a system of low-impact foundations and lightweight superstructures employing a dry construction methodology and using lime as a binder for the minimal wet work.The rooms are luxury tents which have played a significant part in the Rajput lifestyle. Each tent is contemporary with soft muted colours, Jodhpur stone, teak furniture and skylights; retractable skylights installed within the roof capture the changing kaleidoscope of diurnal and nocturnal variations. Every space has airconditioning and heating, so the camp remains open all year round – one of the few tented camps in India to do so. A walkway to the tents allows you to sit outside your tent in addition to giving more privacy, whilst retaining the idyllic uninterrupted views and virtually no sign of habitation. It is a rare luxury glamping experience you can ever have.
