"WE'RE ALL JUST KIDS at the moment," said a beaming Arjun Oberoi, surrounded by some of the most incredible vintage cars set against the backdrop of the Oberoi Udaivilas. There was a childlike excitement in the air at the inaugural Oberoi Concours d'Elegance, a passion project for the dapper Arjun, as well as his cousin Vikram, who run the Oberoi group of hotels, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. Distinguished, well-heeled guests flew from across the world to this impressive location, including Prince Michael of Kent, who handed out the prizes.
The two-day event was curated by India's leading automotive historian, Manvendra Singh, the maharana of Barwani, who won a GQ Men of the Year award in 2018 for being the driving force behind establishing India's classic car culture and bringing it under the international spotlight.
