The American Women's Association offers a huge step into a community of women who want to build new friendships while taking part in interesting activities, social events and volunteering. We chat with its president, JULIA TAN, to find out more!

Give us a bit of background to the association.
The American Women's Association of Singapore (AWA) was founded in 1935 as the Women's Auxiliary of the American Association of Malaya, so we are turning 90 this year. Spoiler alert: keep an eye out for some exciting celebrations of this milestone (#AWA90th birthday)! AWA has grown and changed over those nine decades.
While they weren't playing pickleball back in 1935, the initial goals remain in place: to be a community of women from around the world who come together to enhance their Singapore experience through fun activities and volunteerism. AWA oversees over 50 unique and engaging activities and special events. Our social, informational and community service groups meet regularly our calendar is packed!
