ARPITA MEHTA MIRRORED DREAMS
Brides Today
|July - September 2025
She's known for creating magic with mirror work, and panache with pastels. As she expands to pinks and oranges from her signature creams, Arpita Mehta shares her insights on the evolving bridalwear market and what it means to design for a woman's most special day.
Brides Today: What does bridalwear personally mean to you? As a designer, as a woman, and as someone who helps create unforgettable memories...
Arpita Mehta: Weddings are seen as one of the biggest events in a person's life. In India, we celebrate them with all our might and love. So creating a look for a bride on this special day is always emotional and special. In a way, we're helping make someone's dream come true — and that, I feel, is a huge responsibility. When someone trusts us with that, we want to give it our absolute best.
BT: Can you walk us through your latest bridal collection? What was the core inspiration behind it? And what kind of bride did you have in mind while conceptualising and designing it?
AM: Our bridal journey has always been an extension of my personal preferences. My vision of a bride is understated yet spectacular. It's not just about the outfit but the entire look — the jewellery, makeup, hair, shoes and, most importantly, how a bride feels in our clothes.
This season, you'll see not only our signature creams and golds but also baby pinks, nude pinks, rani pinks, and orange in our bridal lehengas, all adorned with our signature mirror embroidery enhanced with threadwork and barik cutdana, detailed with 3D mirror tassels and organza flower tassels. There are classic and playful options that keep the different kinds of brides in mind.
BT: Mirror work and pastels have become synonymous with the Arpita Mehta label. What keeps you coming back to these elements? And how do you reinvent these season after season?Diese Geschichte stammt aus der July - September 2025-Ausgabe von Brides Today.
