CAMBRIDGESHIRE NATURE RESERVE RECORDS ITS 10,000TH SPECIES IN UK FIRST

A black-and-yellow-striped moth that resembles a wasp is the 10,000th species to be recorded at the National Trust-managed Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire, England. Experts believe that Wicken Fen is the first such site in the UK to reach this milestone, highlighting its status as one of Europe's most important wetlands for wildlife. The newly recorded species is the six-belted clearwing, which employs mimicry to deter predators.
