ROMANCE. POETRY. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to tell the two apart. One can argue that the latter is a stylistic evocation of the former. But the richness of the essence that connects both inextricably extends beyond such an empirical conclusion. Romance and poetry are both threaded together because they are states that make life, and the constituent pieces of daily existence that resound with a higher significance. They're a feeling made tangible by imagination, ingenuity, art, and care.

Just as the same tune resonating from two different players is bound to sound different, no two bartenders can create a drink that tastes the same. It is not just in his immaculate dressing and debonair moustache that I see the romantic and the poet in Marco, but in KOMA’s new eight-drink menu that bows at the altar of Japanese folklore and history. Each represents a glorious coordinate in one line pulsing with the resplendent connection between humanity and nature.

I apologise for dubbing that collective flourish a new ‘menu’. It is an awakening.
