A Minnesota kitchen remodeled to embrace Scandinavian simplicity nourishes a wellness coach and her family

Shortly after meeting with her new clients about remodeling the kitchen of their St. Paul-area home, interior designer Lucy Penfield knew how special the project would be. It wouldn't be merely updating the hub where the family of four cooks and dines.

It would be about creating a kitchen that would feed the soul-a tranquil space where the homeowner, a wellness coach and nurse practitioner, could plan meals that require special ingredients and complicated recipes to meet the nutritional needs of one of her children who suffers from an autoimmune deficiency.
