Touching down in Noonu Atoll, the transition into Soneva Jani begins before arrival — on a seaplane and then a boat, with the turquoise ocean quietly taking over as the central presence. Spread across Medhufaru Island, this resort is less about theatrics and more about immersing gently into a landscape that needs no embellishment. Designed by the in-house architectural team under the leadership of creative director and ‘Conscience’ Eva Malmström Shivdasani, the property encourages visitors to slow down. The gently curving wooden jetty leading to the villas is deliberate in its design — it meanders, making you walk gradually and look around.
