Creating Contemporary Craftsmanship

Born out of a deep reverence for Indian crafts, Nolwa Studio founded by Rohit Naag, is creating limited edition objects of artistry, spotlighting one craft at a time

“We reimagine traditional crafts with contemporary perspectives by bringing together India’s artisans and global designers to create collectible objects of art and design,” says Rohit Naag when asked about what his studio stands for.

As the founder and creative director of Nolwa Studio, which officially launched in 2024, he started his design journey in 2017 with research, development and design explorations of India’s crafts. “I was fascinated by Longpi pottery when I saw it in a cafe in 2016, and was drawn to explore other such crafts of our country. Despite an abundance of skill and craftsmanship, many of these were dying a slow death. It left me wondering what the issue was and how we could tackle it,” he adds.
