DUTCH BRAND POLSPOTTEN'S VIBRANT AMSTERDAM SPACE, DESIGNED BY S-P-A-C-E, BLENDS HISTORY, PLAY, AND SUSTAINABILITY

Rebellious, colourful and eclectic, the Dutch furniture and décor brand POLSPOTTEN, has opened its new space in central Amsterdam, designed by Pepijn Smit of S-P-A-C-E. Pepijn’s practice is fairly new, yet he comes with 16 years of experience across furniture design, fashion retail and branding. He says, “We believe in a holistic brand approach, in which the physical space can be the immersive brand experience, communicating its values.” The store and office created for POLSPOTTEN, is at first glance a visually captivating space, with a distinctly eclectic vibe. The colour palette grabs attention with its predominantly terracotta hues, which references the brand’s first product, potten or ‘pots’. In 1986, POLSPOTTEN founder, Erik Pol imported Spanish terracotta pots to Amsterdam’s Herenstraat and over time, the brand has collaborated with innovative Dutch designers and skilled international craftspeople, reinterpreting traditional techniques from Europe, Africa and Asia.
