People tend to forget that play is serious,' said the artist David Hockney; he could easily have been describing this house. For Monica Adair and Stephen Kopp, the co-founders of Acre Architects, based in Canada's maritime New Brunswick region, designing their own home was the opportunity to embody Hockney's observation, as well as honour the motto of their practice: 'storied architecture-inspiring people to live great stories'.
