PIP RICH I've not known murals to be as popular as they are right now - they're finding their way into all sorts of design schemes and rooms. Why do you think this is?

LIZZIE DESHAYES There is just something about having nature on the walls, an excitement it brings that isn't matched by anything else. And when you choose a panoramic instead of a wallpaper with a smaller repeat pattern, your eye tends to journey around, travelling to find continual joy. You discover new things all the time, and are therefore constantly delighted.

PR Fromental is 20 this year - coincidentally I became a design journalist 20 years ago too. I look back at how wallcoverings have changed since my early days, and don't miss those damasks of 2005. What shifts have you seen?
