There's a lot to love about carpet in the home - it's a warm, durable and cost-effective floor covering that comes in such a wide variety of colours and styles there is something for every interior aesthetic. It's also a practical choice for many rooms of the home. "Beyond use in bedrooms, carpet also works well in any room where you want to achieve a plush, cosy environment," says Bree Oliver, interior designer and director of Oliver Interiors. "Think media rooms, home cinemas and playrooms. Carpet also acts as a great sound barrier in these rooms and is soft underfoot." But buyers beware, not all carpet is made equal and there are considerations to make before investing.
