Whether you're taking your pooch for a run on the boardwalk, going for a quick dip, or escaping the rays under your beach umbrella, it's important to keep an eye out for common pet hazards including dehydration, exhaustion, and sunburn. Even sand can cause injury, says Nita Vasudevan, D.V.M., who lives and works in Orlando, FL: "If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws." Here's more of her advice:
