"MLK Jr. Paid for My Birth, Literally!" Legacy can be built through small acts that shape our futures-like Martin Luther King Jr. helping Julia Roberts' parents pay her hospital bill.

The friendship and generosity that Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King extended to me when I was brand-new to the world were profound. The King children attended my parents' theater school, the Actors and Writers Workshop, and our families became friends. My parents could not afford the hospital bill when I was born, so Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King helped us out of a jam. With a kickoff like that, it's no wonder I have a deep sense of joy and gratitude.
