A fast-paced renovation of just over five months meant this fabulous Tudor-style home was ready for a young family's new start in a new city

Hard to believe and deeply impressive, this Tudor-style home built in 1927 went from tired and dated to fresh and fabulous in just over five months. The family who bought it in April 2023 were relocating from San Francisco to Washington DC and needed it to be ready for the new school term in September. Lillian Byers of Platt Home and the studio's principal designer Katie Jackson were trusted with the challenge because Lillian had known the family for 10 years, having worked on their San Francisco house. Coincidentally, she had just relocated to more accessible North Carolina. who, together with Katie, worked closely with Barnes Vanze Architects who did the structural work.
