When George Glynn drove by this house and admired it from afar, she never thought it would become hers

One of the reasons George Glynn and her husband Jason fell in love with this detached Victorian home was the generous size of most of the rooms — and that also inspired George to treat the decor of each room individually. ‘I didn't plan a colour palette or have an intention to create a flow,’ she says. ‘I'm more erratic than that, spontaneous but with strong ideas — much like the rest of our family! The Savoy Hotel in London is perhaps my closest inspiration as each area has its own vibe like all our rooms.’

This period home came to George's attention after she spotted the house while driving past to go walking with a friend. ‘This house stood out because it was the only detached one on the street and I loved the double-fronted look and sash windows,’ she says. ‘When it popped up on a property website, I had no idea, because there wasn’t a for sale sign outside.’
