With public ‘flirt fests’ and on-camera kissing, are Kate and William battling Meghan and Harry for the title of most loved-up couple?

Wales vs Sussex LOVE & WAR

Traditionally, royal couples steer clear of public displays of affection, as the Palace's code of etiquette dictates they refrain from intimate gestures while out and about. It's something the Prince and Princess of Wales, whose relationship seems built on stability and duty, usually adhere to.

As royal etiquette expert Myker Meier explained, while out on engagements, 'the couple are working representatives of British Monarchy' and are therefore 'to remain professional during their designated roles.'

One couple who have never stuck to this code, however, is royal rule-breakers Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. With their more passionate, 'us against the world' dynamic, they've always shown their adoration for one another with lovey-dovey PDAs.

Yet, since Kate's return to royal duties earlier this year, it seems she and William have upped the ante in the public affection stakes. With their ongoing feud rumbling on, is the 'whose the happiest couple' battle the latest in the Wales vs Sussex war?

Flirt fests

Historically, it's Harry and Meghan who are tactile in public. During one infamous moment, when the feuding couples reunited to greet mourners outside Windsor Castle following the late Queen's death, Kate and William walked side by side while Harry and Meghan clutched hands.

At the Invictus Games in February, the Sussexes openly kissed and hugged in the stands, with royal reporter Bronte Coy saying 'the PDAs were pretty intense.'
