THE Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has directed all the State Pharmacy Councils to submit the data of registered pharmacists in their States in a stipulated format on immediate basis by November 30, 2025, in order to facilitate National Health Authority (NHA) to create a consolidated data on pharmacists in the country under the Health Professional Registry (HPR).

- Gireesh Babu, New Delhi

The fresh direction is being issued after the PCI noticing that many state pharmacy councils have not submitted the required data within the timeframe of July 31, 2025, for the consolidation of data resulting in delay in the implementation process.

The PCI said that it is working with the NHA to integrate the pharmacists with the HPR and also to maintain and update the data under section 15 (A) of the Pharmacy Act, 1948. Under Section 15(A), the PCI has to maintain a Central Register of pharmacists, with the names of all persons registered with the State Councils, revised from time to time with all additions and other amendments shared by the State Councils.
