Meet Maya Marie

In Brooklyn, New York, Maya Marie grows food in her backyard and in borrowed spaces and teaches others to do the same.

Marie is the founder of Deep Routes, an educational project that uplifts the foodways of the African diaspora and Indigenous peoples via the stories of plants, people and places, and she leads a team that designs and shares curricula featuring these histories.
