The wedding wardrobe was naturally a big focus when fashion entrepreneur Aisha Rawji married her teenage crush Afzal Jasani. The couple welcomes Vogue India to their celebrations spread between Los Angeles and Cabo.
IT WAS THE summer of 2008. The mise-en-scène: a summer camp at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. The meet-cute: 16-year-olds Aisha Rawji and Afzal Jasani find themselves sitting next to each other in the camp group photograph. Little did they know that 14 years later, they would be exchanging vows. “It was obviously meant to be,” laughs Rawji, founder and CEO of Kynah and Kiska Studios, both multi-brand destinations that bring Indian designers to Los Angeles. The couple reveals they reconnected several years later when they were both living in New York. Jasani, a solutions architect, was quick to ask Rawji out, and went on to put a ring on it in October 2020. Two years later, they said ‘I do’ in the very same month.
The duo decided to divide their events between Los Angeles (the bride’s hometown) and Cabo, Mexico, for a destination celebration. It started with a mehendi at the home of the bride’s relatives followed by the
