SMITA BHARTI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SAKSHI

Smita Bharti is the Executive Director of Sakshi, a not-for-profit organization addressing gender inequality and sexual violence.

She designed Sakshi’s flagship program, The Rakshin Project, reaching out to 40,000 students across India every two years to build their capacity as change agents to interrupt the cycle of sexual violence and prevent child sexual abuse. A celebrated poet and playwright, Smita’s work, including over 30 plays and a web series, explores societal disparities and has earned critical acclaim.
