A magical connection blooms right here as L'OFFICIEL SINGAPORE meets South Korean actress Kim Min-ha-dressed in Dior's Cruise 2025 collection, the Pachinko star shares why the series is so close to her heart and how she would love to fill her world with Haribo
Like the flowers found in a forest-like garden in Seoul's Hannam-dong, where our cover shoot is taking place, South Korean actress Kim Min-ha has quietly, yet resolutely come into bloom. In 2022, the burgeoning star captured the attention of a wider audience with Apple TV+’s critically-acclaimed Pachinko, a series adapted from the 2017 novel that bears the same name — one which describes a Korean family’s immigrant journey over generations. Also starring veterans Youn Yuh-jung and Lee Min ho, Pachinko was quickly renewed for a second season, which just saw its finale air just some weeks ago. With the much-awaited final episode of season two now out in the world, L’OFFICIEL SINGAPORE speaks to Kim about what lies ahead.
Hi Min-ha! You’re very much recognised for your role in Pachinko. Could you describe your experience working on seasons one and two?The Pachinko set is a place filled with love and encouragement. Every crew member and actor showered me with such love and care that I was able to really devote myself to the role of Sunja. By the time we got to shoot season two, we had gotten so close and it felt like everyone was family. And in that context, Pachinko transcended itself as a project and taught me how to receive and give love. It was an in-depth lesson in learning how to cherish the character and her story.
What was most challenging about working on season two and what was the most valuable lesson learnt?Diese Geschichte stammt aus der November 2024-Ausgabe von L'OFFICIEL Singapore.
