When music met fashion, merging sound with style

Los Angeles, Americana, music, fashion, culture, self-expression. They might all be inextricably linked, but this one-off festival in the city of angels was a celebration of all these elements that united a wider community of creatives as H&M took the lead to spotlight this idea of americana via its universal belief in music culture.

Doechii, Robyn, Jamie xx along with PinkPantheress and SAILORR, took the lead among others to headline the H&M&LA festival, held at the Ace Mission Studios in Boyle Heights, Downtown LA, that paid homage to the city's vibrant influence on film, music, art and fashion, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in sounds across different stages including a special club space.

“I think we've always been looking at music, and been inspired by and collaborated with it,” explains Jörgen Andersson (Creative Director, H&M), “I think the music scene has also become very different — it’s all about diversity and self-expression. There are so many great emerging artists. It’s all about how you're mixing things together, and I can’t think of any other art form that has the power to influence young people. Thanks to streaming platforms there is so much music to discover. It’s also an art form that carries emotion. I always get emotional seeing artists and dance performances.”
