A SOULFUL ESCAPE

Anvaya redefines the concept of slow living with its luxurious suites and panoramic forest views

Tucked away at the edge of the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary in Delhi, Anvaya, a boutique property, was born from the vision of Shivan Gupta and his mother Rama Gupta Tandon. It isn't just a getaway – it's a space where design, ecology, and epicurean indulgence exist in perfect, unhurried harmony. Designed by visual artist and architect Vishal K. Dar, Anvaya's spaces are in dialogue with nature rather than in contrast to it. The retreat comprises three key structures – the reception, the residency block, and the pavilion – all characterised by clean lines, tactile natural materials like quartzite stone and recycled corten steel, and an earthy colour palette that mirrors the surrounding forest. Each of the six suites are named after indigenous trees – Sheesham, Shahtoot, Neem, Amaltas, Gulmohar, and Banyan – and open onto sweeping views of the wilderness.

But it's not just the architectural finesse that steals your breath – it's the ethos. Anvaya makes a compelling case for responsible design: The buildings occupy just one-third of the total area, and practices like STP-treated water reuse and natural cooling materials have been built into the retreat's DNA.
