Riddhi Jain of Studio Medium on why the future of Indian fashion lies in cross-disciplinary collaboration

For decades, the fashion industry has been admired for its craft and heritage. That recognition now forms a strong foundation. The question is no longer if India can make something exquisite, but what happens when we begin to make differently, when fashion, instead of staying within its perimeter, begins a conversation with other worlds? We have always been interested in different mediums and how they interact with each other. This is about the actual materials but also about various mediums of expression whether that’s fashion, film, food, furniture or anything else. What interests us is not the medium in isolation but the osmosis between them. When disciplines collide, they fertilise each other. They create forms that no field, on its own, could have imagined. When we set up Studio Medium, our decision to have the word medium in our name was in response to this belief.
