RAKUL PREET SINGH TAKING THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

The multi-hyphenate artist reveals her secret to happiness, manifesting the best and the next steps on her journey as an actor that has only just begun

She's unapologetically a sunshine girl, a firm believer in the energy she radiates, and self-admittedly owes much of who she is to her army upbringing. Her eighteen-year-old self, who dreamt about being an actor, would be proud of where she is today. Rakul Preet Singh has often taken the road less travelled and arrived at a good place we think. She agrees. "I always knew I was going to have my own journey and my own roadblocks," she shares. "The biggest myth that people outside the film industry have is that it's a big bad world, and people want to take advantage of you. People are trying to make creative cinema, choosing individuals for the value they add to the film. Things may not come to you instantly, and it may be tougher, but it will happen if you're working hard." She winces at the word 'struggle' when we ask her what the journey has been like for her. "I don't like to call anything a struggle-it's just a journey I am blessed to be on."
