On 13 July 1985, the world came to a standstill to watch an event the likes of which had never been seen before. Featuring artists including David Bowie, Queen, U2, Madonna and Tina Turner, Live Aid, the brainchild of Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, was organised to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.
