Anita Dobson leads one of TV's most iconic comebacks this week as Play for Today returns after more than 40 years.
Famed for its fearless storytelling and for championing new talent, the original anthology series ran on BBC1 from 1970 to 1984 and produced such plays as Abigail's Party with Alison Steadman. It is now being revived by 5 for four stand-alone dramas.
