Dan Snow learns the secrets of China's famous terracotta warriors...

- HANNAH DAVIES, NATASHA HOLT

Ancient soldiers

A group of farmers who were digging a well in 1974 made a startling discovery that changed the history of China.

As their spades turned the earth, they came across numerous bits of ancient pottery, and when archaeologists took over the dig, it started the amazing process of uncovering the so-called Terracotta Army. These are thousands of life-sized warriors made from clay in ancient times. Now, Dan Snow is travelling to Xi'an in China to learn the secrets of this vast lifelike militia.
