An already difficult year for Lauren became even more stressful when, in her desperation to help blind son Jimmy, she handed over thousands of pounds to a 'doctor' who claimed he could improve the tot's vision. If it wasn't bad enough that it was a scam, Lauren had used the money from a charity collection aimed at supporting those with sight problems.
