Here, actor Ryan Hawley, 39, who first portrayed the character from 2014 to 2019, joins TV Times for an exclusive chat about why the time was right to return to the ITV1 soap...

Welcome back, Ryan! How are you finding life in the Dales again?

It has been so much fun. There are actors I hadn't met before, and I've been given stuff to do with them; I think for the writers to get inspiration for stories in the future. It's been lovely meeting people like William Ash [who plays Caleb Miligan] and Lawrence Robb [AKA Mackenzie Boyd]. I think the only person I haven't worked with yet is Beth Cordingly, who portrays Ruby Miligan.

Why did you agree to a comeback?
