How secrets and scandals swirl in a mystery exploring the power of family ties

Like mother, LIKE DAUGHTER

An elite private estate becomes a dangerous hotbed of intrigue for two mothers and their teenage daughters in BBC1's glossy new drama Wild Cherry. Created by actor and screenwriter Nicôle Lecky, the six-parter centres on author and influencer Juliet Lonsdale (played by Eve Best) and her friend, self-made businesswoman Lorna Gibbons (Carmen Ejogo), who reside in the fictional neighbourhood of Richford Lake. Juliet's confident daughter Allegra (Amelia May) is best mates with Lorna's super-smart eldest child Grace (Imogen Faires). However, things take an unsettling turn when, following the girls getting into trouble at school after being accused of making an inappropriate video, someone disappears at a party attended by Allegra and Grace. Can Juliet and Lorna protect their children, as well as their own dark secrets?

'I was keen to write about a gated community because there was a place in Surrey I used to drive through and I'd think about who lived in those houses,' says Nicôle, who also plays enigmatic US life coach Gigi in the series.

'Also, I wanted to examine mothers and daughters, and how social media affects that relationship. It's a provocative look at womanhood, privilege, class and race.' Here, Eve, Amelia, Carmen and Imogen introduce us to their characters...
