STEPHEN FRY on the joys of walking among dinosaurs

Stephen Fry embarks on a roar-some adventure this week that brings him face to face with a diplodocus, a triceratops and a majestic tyrannosaurus rex!

Using cutting-edge CGI and virtual-reality technology, Channel 5's new four-part documentary series, Dinosaur, takes viewers back to prehistoric times, with Stephen interacting with creatures great and small - even witnessing them being wiped out by an asteroid!

'I felt like a traveller going back in time and standing there, down and dirty with the animals,' says Stephen, 65. 'It's a wonderful way of bringing dinosaurs to life.

We hear you were dinosaur-mad when you were a child...

Yes, I had some pretty good model dinosaurs in my bedroom, including a brontosaurus, the plant-eating one with the huge neck. I also still have the odd trilobite or ammonite fossil - the curvy ones that are pretty common.
