Slow Horses meets Rebus in a cold-case crime drama starring Matthew Goode

A group of unlikely crime-fighters tackle some mysterious cold cases in a dark new Netflix series from Scott Frank, the creator of hit chess-based drama The Queen's Gambit.

Set in Edinburgh, nine-parter Dept. Q stars Matthew Goode as brash but brilliant English detective DCI Carl Morck, whose world is falling apart following a shooting that leaves his partner paralysed and an officer dead.

A traumatised Carl is exiled to the police station's basement, where he finds himself the sole member of Department Q, a new unit charged with solving the city's darkest cold cases.

'Carl is aggressive and rude, but I love his sense of humour,' says Goode, 47, who's best known for
