Carrie Coon returns as New York's wealthiest residents face more romance and rivalry

After her acclaimed performance as divorced lawyer Laurie in the recent season of The White Lotus, Carrie Coon is back for more bitter tensions and scandalous intrigue in the third run of Sky Atlantic's period drama The Gilded Age.

Penned by Lord Julian Fellowes and Sonja Warfield, the eight-part series, set amid Manhattan's elite in the 1880s, finds New York City's wealthiest citizens, including nouveau-riche railroad magnate George Russell (Morgan Spector) and ambitious wife Bertha (Coon), battling to maintain their place in the social strata.

As ruthless George tries to extend the rail network, he clashes with real-life tycoon JP Morgan (Sirens' Bill Camp), and undertakes huge risks. And although the spectre of divorce casts a shadow for several characters, Bertha remains focused on marriage and ensuring that her daughter Gladys (Taissa Farmiga) weds shrewd British aristocrat Hector, Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb), despite Gladys' keenness to snare sweet suitor Billy Carlton (Matt Walker).
