An escaped prisoner's attempt to conceal himself within a closed Christian sect causes devastation in Netflix's thriller Unchosen.

The dark six-part drama follows the community of the (fictional) Fellowship of the Divine, where pensive Rosie (Molly Windsor) and her troubled husband Adam (Asa Butterfield) live by the group's strict rules that restrict technology and interaction with outsiders – seen as the 'unchosen' – while women are subservient.

Rosie becomes captivated by a mysterious stranger Sam (Fra Fee), after he rescues her daughter Grace (Olivia Pickering) from drowning. But as they grow closer and Rosie is drawn to the idea of the exciting external world that Sam represents, it emerges that he is a convict on the run, who was jailed in his teens after committing a shocking crime.
