Megan Moroney is fresh off a performance at CMA Fest, Nashville’s annual country music event, when she gets on the phone for her latest interview. She cracks a joke about understanding one of Post Malone’s more prominent tattoos—the musician has the phrase “always tired” inked under his eyes— but Moroney knows her fatigue is simply a sign of her skyrocketing career. At 26, she’s Music City’s latest It Girl—and already an Academy of Country Music-winning star, thanks to her No. 1 single “Tennessee Orange,” from her acclaimed 2023 debut album Lucky.

She’s kept her foot on the gas, and now, on July 12, Moroney—who has befriended famous fans like Olivia Rodrigo and Lana Del Rey—is unleashing her second album, Am I Okay?.

“I thought last year’s Megan was busy; now my entire life is planned out until 2026,” Moroney says of her whirlwind schedule. “Everything has been taken up a notch!”
