Everything happens for a reason, Dylan Mulvaney believes, but "I'm still waiting to figure out what the reason was for that one," she tells People, referring to the inescapable Internet hate she faced back in 2023 during what she's dubbed "Beergate." Mulvaney, 28, lays out her messiest highs and lows in her new book Paper Doll: Notes From a Late Bloomer, including the infamous Bud Light controversy: She struck a deal to make a sponsored video for the brand on Instagram, a partnership that provoked the ire of conservatives who called for a boycott amid a transphobic backlash.
