Travolta is finding her voice—and boldly sharing her innermost thoughts and feelings—with her new EP (due Nov. 8). She’s also following in the footsteps of her dad, actor John Travolta, 70, who scored a string of pop hits in the late ’70s, while gaining inspiration from her mom. “I was writing a lot of these songs right before my mom passed,” Travolta says. “It’s kind of a little message to her, telling her, ‘Okay, I’m doing really well.’ I know that she would be really proud of me.”

It’s not lost on Travolta that she had the privilege of being born into a famous family. “I’m so fortunate to have been exposed to that from so young, and that definitely sparked my interest to want to do it,” says the nascent singer- songwriter, who has appeared alongside her dad in several movies, including 2009’s Old Dogs
