Anne Burrell's Cause of Death Ruled a Suicide

Five weeks after it was announced that she had died at age 55, Anne Burrell’s cause of death has been confirmed as suicide. According to the New York City medical examiner’s office, the celebrity chef’s death was attributed to “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine and amphetamine.”

On June 18—one day after Burrell died—the NYPD told People that the Food Network star was found “unconscious and unresponsive.” They added that emergency medical services “responded and pronounced her deceased on scene.”
