You attended the Cannes this year; what was that experience like?
My experience attending the Cannes Film Festival was quite remarkable. Being part of such a prestigious and internationally renowned event provided me with a unique platform to showcase my talents on a global stage. I interacted with fellow actors, directors, and industry professionals from around the world, fostering valuable connections and gaining insights into the global film scene. This experience has given me the opportunity to contribute to the growing recognition of Indian talent and cinema on the global map. Also, most importantly, I was really overwhelmed to know from my friend Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere from Paris that I had topped EMV earned media value 2023 with $22.4 million earned media value at the Cannes Film Festival, beating kpop and Hollywood artists.
How do you feel to see so many Indian figures being recognised at such a big event like the Cannes Film Festival?
I feel a sense of solidarity and joy when fellow countrymen or colleagues receive recognition at prestigious events like the Cannes Film Festival. Such achievements not only elevate the profile of Indian cinema on the global stage but also indicate progress and increased representation. As a member of the industry myself, I take pride in the growing diversity of talent being acknowledged and celebrated at such renowned platforms.
You have represented India and won several prestigious pageants. Do you miss doing so even now, or did you always want to go into acting?
