It's been a few decades since Ross first shouted, "We were on a break!" in an episode of Friends and people are still debating what exactly 'taking a break' means in a relationship. Is a break just a temporary break-up? Or is a break a period of time you take off from the relationship to focus on other things, while still being together? The concept can have different meanings for every couple, but one thing seems to be certain: putting some space between you and your partner can sometimes be a good thing.
