THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

ALI AND JULIE TEAMED UP TO SOLVE THE GROUP GIFT PROBLEM THAT WAS BEGGING TO BE FIXED

As a mother-of-four, Ali Linz increasingly found herself the designated person collecting money for the end-of-year teacher or sports coach gift. And, as anyone who's ever embarked on this challenge will know, it’s always a nightmare.

“You end up chasing people like a debt collector or dealing with the drama when you forget someone on the card,” Ali, from Sydney, tells WHO. “Every time I did it, I saw the same chaos. A group gift is a brilliant idea as you get the person something they really want, but the reality of it was awkward and time-consuming.”

That problem was top of mind back in 2012, when Ali was chatting to a fellow school mum, Julie Tylman, about potential business ideas.

“We were both ex-corporate. I was a director at an advertising agency and Julie was an equity analyst, and neither of us wanted to be full-time mums,” she says.
