THE ACTRESS MOURNS THE PASSING OF HER LONGTIME PARTNER AFTER HIS DEVASTATING AND SECRET HEALTH BATTLE

For three years, Sandra Bullock and the "love of her life", Bryan Randall, have feared the day would eventually come that he'd succumb to the devastating degenerative disease ALS. With just loved ones and his medical team aware of his incredible health battle, the news of his death aged 57 on August 5 sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Two days after his passing,  photographer's family shared the painful secret. "Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honour his request," his family shared in a statement to People magazine. They added their immense gratitude "to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours".

Split speculation had been directed at the couple recently due to them not being seen in public together since 2020, but Randall's battle with ALS explains the couple's absence from public life and Bullock's decision to take a step back from acting last year.
