Interviewed by her daughter Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner recently reflected on her earliest ambitions as a child in San Diego.

“The dream for me when I was growing up — all I wanted to do was have six kids,” she said on a March episode of Khloé in Wonder Land. “That was my goal in life: to get married and be able to raise a family, have six kids and live happily ever after.”

The journey may not have been straightforward, but Kris — who turns 70 on November 5 - has transformed that simple dream into a multibillion-dollar family empire. As the mastermind behind Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which first aired in 2007, and its hit followup, The Kardashians, now in its seventh season, she’s nailed her role as matriarch and mogul, coining the term “momager” in the process.

“I think the way that our lives unfolded is one of the best things I could have ever dreamt of,” she told Khloé. “It was like the perfect storm. Did I see it coming? No.”
