AFTER A SPELL OF UPHEAVAL, THE STAR IS REDISCOVERING HER MAGIC

Filming in far-flung locations like Abu Dhabi and Budapest, Isla Fisher felt right at home reteaming with Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco for Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the third instalment in the franchise that sees the stars reprise the magician roles they first played in 2013.

“Coming back felt a little like a family reunion - maybe a dysfunctional family,” Fisher, 49, told People magazine in October. “We already had this incredible shorthand, so slipping back into that dynamic was easy and really fun. But, at the same time, enough years have passed that it felt fresh and new, almost like rediscovering the magic all over again. I missed my mates and love hanging out with them.”

Fisher sat out the franchise's first sequel, Now You See Me 2 (2016) — with Lizzy Caplan cast as a new character to fill in for Fisher’s character — because she was pregnant with her youngest child, son Montgomery, now 10. The star also shares daughters Olive, 18, and Elula, 15, with ex-husband Sacha Baron Cohen. The pair got engaged in 2004 after a few years of dating, married in 2010 and quietly split in late 2023, announcing their separation on April 5, 2024.

“I've learnt so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents,” Fisher told The Times in February, months before announcing with Cohen in a joint Instagram Story that they had finalised their divorce in June. “Kids are the most important thing, and you want them to really feel safe and loved. We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.”
