With a new documentary* about his life coming this spring, Michael J. Fox talks to Us about opening up, his beloved fans and how humor has been his saving grace
On March 14, Michael J. Fox received a standing ovation at the screening of his new documentary, Still, at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, during the SXSW Film & TV Festival. As audience members jumped to their feet to applaud thunderously, the humble star sat smiling next to his longtime wife, Tracy Pollan.
The movie, coming to Apple TV+ on May 12, combines interviews with 61-year-old Fox along with archival footage detailing his extraordinary story. The Canada native — who shot to fame in the 1980s with the beloved sitcom Family Ties and the career-defining hit movie Back to the Future — was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, in 1991.
